Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,588 New Cases, Total 239,242

On Saturday 6th February 2021, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) detected 1,588 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) in 19 states of Nigeria and its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.
The names of states the pandemic attacked on Saturday are: Lagos 535, Anambra 218, Oyo 155, FCT 150, Kano 124, Gombe 60, Kaduna 49, Ebonyi 48, Plateau 46, Akwa Ibom 39, Niger 37, Edo 33, Katsina 23, Rivers 18, Taraba 15, Nasarawa 14, Ogun 11, Delta 9, Ekiti 2 and Jigawa 2.
As of 11.44 p.m. on 6th February 2021, Nigeria had recorded a total of 139,242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case happened in the country.
Out of the total, 112,557 positive cases of the global virus had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while the disease had claimed the lives of 1,647 patients in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed six persons in Nigeria on Saturday.

NCDC wrote on its twitter account that its discharges on Saturday included 498 community recoveries in Lagos State, 64 in Kano State and 54 in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
