In their effort to assist in combating crime and fighting criminals in their hideouts, the Northeast Assistant Commander General of Hunter Group of Nigeria, ACG Haruna Umaru Furo has commended the National Assembly (NASS) for pushing up a bill that will establish the group and give assistance to other security agencies.
According to him, the establishment becomes necessary because hunters are found fifty per cent capable of contributing to fighting crime and all forms of banditry in the country.
Haruna on a passionate appeal called on the general public to support the organization as the bill passed second reading and will soon be ready for public hearing by the National Assembly.
Foru in an interview with our Yola correspondent said there is need for both government and the general public to support the establishment of the Hunter Group of Nigeria to assist in wading off all kinds of security threats in the country.
Umaru extolled the leadership qualities of Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin, the Group’s Commander General for his giant strides, contributions, and efforts in making sure the hunter’s bill passes its first and second reading by the National Assembly.
He also called on various state commanders to put more effort and work assiduously in their respective commands for the organization to deliver in their mandate as lions ready to destroy criminals hiding in Nigeria’s forests.
