1,000 Women To Benefit From Oyo State Coalition Against Breast, Cervical Cancer Free Screening

No fewer than 1,000 women are expected to benefit from the Oyo State Coalition Against  Breast and Cervical cancer free Breast and Cervical cancer screening programme holding Ibadan today.
According to a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the free breast and Cervical cancer screening programme is to hold at at the Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan.
The statement by the Oyo State Coalition Against  Breast and Cervical cancer , the programme is part of the activities to commemorate this year’s World Cancer Day with support from the Oyo State Ministry of Health.
It stressed that the Coalition which is a brain child of the Oyo State Chapter of the Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN) is made up of 12 other Organizations involved with strategies to eliminate cancer in the State namely, Breast Cancer Association of Nigeria (BRECAN), Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter (MWAN), Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, Oyo State Chapter (NAWOJ), Patela Care Foundation.
Others are the Society for Family Health (SFH), Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria (PPFN), Santha Ruby Medical Assistance Foundation, J-Rapha Hospital (Save our Future) , Family Health Population Action Committee (FAHPAC), Gender Issues in Women’s Empowerment and Development Initiatives (GIWODI), Women’s Cancer Prevention and Support for African Society (WOCAPSS), Widow of Zaraphat and National Orientation Agency
The statement pointed out that the events for this year  kicked off with a sensitization and cancer awareness creation  outreach to selected NASFAT and Church worship centers in Ibadan on Sunday, the 31st of January, followed by visits to schools, markets and media outfits throughout the week .
It added that the grand finale will be a Covid Compliant free Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening on the 6th of February, 2021 at the Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan.
