Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,138 New Cases, Total 134,690



In Nigeria, 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were infected with 1,138 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday 3rd February 2021.
Data released by Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on its twitter handle stated that the following states were attacked by the pandemic on Wednesday: Lagos 377, FCT 172, Plateau 86, Kano 84, Edo 60, Osun 47, Nasarawa 41, Imo 40, Rivers 36, Niger 32, Oyo 32, Borno 29, Kaduna 27, Delta 18, Kwara 17, Cross River 9, Ekiti 8, Bauchi 7, Ogun 7, Sokoto 6 and Bayelsa 3.
As of 11.48 p.m. on 3rd February 2021 Nigeria had recorded a total of 134,690 confirmed cases of the global virus since the index case occurred in the country.
Out of the total, 108,657 people have been cured of the disease and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,618 patients had been killed by COVID-19 in Nigeria to date, according to NCDC.
The worldwide virus killed five patients in Nigeria on Wednesday.
The national disease control institute said that its discharges on Wednesday included 476 community recoveries in Lagos State and 121 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
