Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,634 New Cases, Total 133,552



Data from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed that the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) recorded 1,634 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in 25 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Tuesday February 2, 2021.
The COVID-19-infested areas on Tuesday are: Lagos 440, Anambra 160, FCT 158, Rivers 134, Abia 103, Oyo 90, Enugu 81, Osun 73, Gombe 54, Kwara 50, Ogun 32, Plateau 32, Akwa Ibom 31, Ondo 24, Borno 23, Delta 23, Ebonyi 21, Taraba 21, Bayelsa 16, Kaduna 15, Nasarawa 13, Jigawa 12, Bauchi 11, Kano 11, Zamfara 4 and Sokoto 2.
NCDC reported on its twitter account that as of 11.29 p.m. on 2nd February 2021, Nigeria had been infected with a total of 133,552 confirmed cases of the worldwide virus since the index case was found in the country.
Out of the total, 107,551 positive cases of the disease had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,613 people who contracted the global disease had died in Nigeria to date.
COVID-19 killed six patients in Nigeria on Tuesday.
The disease control agency said that its discharges yesterday included 551 community recoveries in Lagos State, 213 in Kaduna Stateand 103 in Kano State managed in line with guidelines.
