Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 676 New Cases, Total 131,918



In Nigeria, 676 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) invaded 18 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja on Monday February 1, 2021.
The places that suffered the attack of the pandemic on Monday are: Lagos 227, Rivers 73, Niger 69, Plateau 56, FCT 50, Kano 44, Oyo 43, Ogun 27, Gombe 18, Ondo 15, Enugu 10, Osun 10, Cross River 8, Edo 8, Nasarawa 7, Bauchi 4, Kaduna 3, Ekiti 2 and Zamfara 2.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) daily COVID-19 update pointed out that the country had recorded a total of 131,918 confirmed cases of the worldwide virus since the index case occurredin the nation.
Out of the total, 106,275 patients who tested positive for the disease had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while, to date, 1,607 people have lost their lives in Nigeria to the global illness.
Data made available by NCDC disclosed that 21 persons were killed by COVID-19 in Nigeria on Monday.
The federal disease control agency said that its discharges on Monday included 776 community recoveries in Lagos State and 96 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
