Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 685 New Cases, Total 131,242



Nigeria recorded 685 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) in 16 states on Sunday 31st January 2021.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control said that the following states were infected by the pandemic on Sunday: Lagos 355, Kaduna 58, Nasarawa 46, Kano 40, Akwa Ibom 33, Katsina 26, Ogun 25, Osun 21, Rivers 16, Edo 15, Oyo 13, Ondo 12, Borno 11, Ekiti 9, Kebbi 3 and Plateau 2.
As of 11.28 p.m. on Sunday 31st  January 2021 NCDC reported that Nigeria had had a total of 131,242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was found in the nation.
Out of the total, 104,989 cases had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,586 deaths caused by the worldwide virus had been recorded in the country to date.
COVID-19 caused eight deaths in Nigeria on Sunday.
The disease control agency wrote on its twitter account that its discharges on Sunday included 901 community recoveries in Lagos State and 123 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
