The Oyo State Security Network, operation Amotekun has deployed 200 of its operatives to Oke Ogun area of the state as dusk to dawn curfew has been imposed on Igangan communities to forestall possible reprisal attack on people
Commandant of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN), operation Amotekun, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju (rtd) declared that the Amotekun operatives were deployed to bring an end to ” banditry, kidnappings and terrorism in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
Addressing, the deployed operatives, Colonel Olayanju (rtd) charged them to be of good conduct and not to forget the rules of engagement so as to bring lasting solutions to security challenges in that environ and the entire state.
Emphasizing that there is the need for the Amotekun operatives to embrace professionalism and be worthy ambassadors of the outfit in discharging their duties, the Commandant lauded the operatives for their achievements since inception, the Commandant
Colonel Olayanju (rtd) then tasked stakeholders in each local government for their support and cooperation through security intelligence and other relevant materials that will ease their operations and bring end to crime in the state.

It was learnt that the decision to impose the curfew was arrived at by the traditional ruler, community leaders, Youth groups among other residents in Igangan-
Speaking on behalf of the Youths and residents of Igangan community, the Convener, Igangan Development Advocates, Mr Oladokun Oladiran, said the curfew was part of the strategy to secure lives and property in the town.
“Igangan is going smoothly, things are fine. The town imposed a curfew of 9pm to 5am just to secure lives and property.It was the joint decision of the monarch, his Chiefs, council of elders and all the bodies and associations in Igangan. It was a consensus and everyone and anything from 9pm, there would be patrol. This is to prevent reprisal attacks.”
