Jigawa State Government has launched the Basic Healthcare Provision Fund with a charge on stakeholder’s to be prudent and committed in utilising such funds judiciously for the purpose intended.
Inaugurating the 18- man committee to facilitate the operation of the fund to 239 healthcare facilities across Jigawa State, the Permanent Secretary, Jigawa State Ministry of Health, Dr. Salisu Muazu stated that over one hundred and forty seven million Naira will be disbursed to 239 healthcare facilities for the improvement of provision of accessible health to the down trodden.
He stated that the fund was expected to cater for reliable healthcare support to every citizen at the grassroots.
Dr. Muazu cautioned healthcare managers to use the fund in repairs of basic amenities within the health facilities for patients to have conducive health system.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary, Jigawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim charged the beneficiaries to utilise.the opportunity with these health centres on critical health treatment, but however warn them against abuse of the process.
He said each health centre will receive the sum of N601,500 as fund representing disbursement of first and second quarters respectively, saying each quarter stands at N300,000.
He however warned them against abuse, as stiff penalty was put in place for trail of erring wrongdoers.
Stakeholders at the inauguration called for fear of God, and selfless service to humanity on the side of the 18-man committee members who will be assigned to serve in the process for the successful implementation of the programs.
