Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,633 New Cases, Total 120,602

Twenty states of Nigeria and its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were attacked by 1,633 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Saturday 22nd January 2021.
Lagos State led the list of Saturday’s COVID-19 infested states with 498 cases, Plateau 214, FCT 176, Rivers 99, Kaduna 98, Edo 87, Anambra 86, Akwa Ibom 50, Osun 47, Kano 40, Oyo 40, Kwara 39, Ebonyi 28, Niger 28, Taraba 28, Ogun 27, Ondo 21, Ekiti 12, Katsina 7, Borno 6 and Delta 2.
As of 11.27 p.m. on 23rd January 2021, a total of 120,602 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic had been reported in Nigeria since the index case appeared in the country.
Out of the total, the country’s COVID-19 isolation centres had treated and discharged 95,901 patients who suffered from the global virus, while 1,502 deaths caused by the worldwide disease had occurred in Nigeria to date, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its twitter platform late yesterday.
Data released by NCDC indicated that COVID-19 killed 12 people in Nigeria on Saturday.
The disease control agency clarified that its discharges on Saturday, included 573 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.
