Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: Kaduna Leads 1,483 New Cases, Total 118,138

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said that on Friday 21st January 2021 the country was invaded by 1,483 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) which affected 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja.

Here are the areas that the global virus visited in Nigeria on Friday: Kaduna 545, FCT 235, Plateau 127, Nasarawa 80, Oyo 72, Delta 65, Rivers 64, Kano 46, Ogun 46, Bayelsa 30, Gombe 30, Abia 28, Osun 27, Edo 25, Ondo 14, Sokoto 12, Zamfara 10, Bauchi 8, Imo 5, Jigawa 4, Ekiti 4, Borno 4 and Niger 2.
NCDC reported on its twitter account that as of the end of yesterday Nigeria had recorded a total of 118,138 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case occurred in the country.
Out of the total, 94,150 COVID-19-infected persons had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while deaths arising from the disease in the country is 1,490 to date.
Nigeria lost five patients to COVID-19 on Friday, according to data released by NCDC.
