Two Arrested In Ibadan For Sewing, Selling Fake Amotekun Uniforms, Kits – Commandant

Two suspects including a 63 years old woman are now in the net of the Western Nigeria Security Network (WNSN) operation Amotekun for allegedly sewing and selling fake Amotekun uniforms and other kits.

New Nigerian gathered that the two suspects were arrested by Amotekun operatives early Saturday in Ibadan with some of the already produced uniforms and other kits with the names and logo of Amotekun boldly inscribed on them.

The second suspect 

Speaking on the arrest of the two suspects, the Oyo state Commandant of Operation Amotekun, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju,(rtd) , said the 63 years old woman who identified as Alhaja Oluwakemi and the other suspect were arrested following a tip off to the security on the activities of the suspects.
Col Olayanju (rtd) said the two suspects were arrested by his men in Ibadan along the Akala expressway area of Challenge area of the town with some of the already sewed  fake uniforms, caps, cardigans and other kits
According to the Amotekun Commandant, the two suspects have confessed into committing the crime by  engaging in the sewing and selling of fake Amotekun uniforms and kits to some members of the public who are not personels of the Corps.

Disclosing that men of the Amotekun corp are now trailing those with the fake uniforms and other kits, Colonel Olayanju (rtd)
noted  that the arrested two suspects were  taken to the police station for custody with the  police rejected their been kept in the ir custody .
He stressed that following the perceived fragile health nature of the arrested suspects, they were asked to go home and report back to Amotekun when needed.

Colonel Olayanju (rtd)  stressed that the discovery of the two suspects has clearly shown that some criminal elements are at work to tarnish the good image of Amotekun.
