Chairman of People’s Democratic Party, PDP Kaduna State, Felix Hassan Hyet has slammed Governor Nasiru El-Rufai for high-handedness and disregard for rule of law in handling individual and collective affairs of Kaduna residents, saying the state deserved a compassionate and a leader with the interest of his people at heart.
Hyet made this known while inaugurating members of committees saddled with responsibilities of reconciling aggrieved party members and repositioning the biggest Nigeria’s opposition party ahead 2023.
He declared the readiness and preparedness of his party to take over leadership at state and National levels, saying failures of the ruling APC in virtually every index of good governance were indications that PDP would have an easy ride to success at the polls in 2023.
The former Minister of Aviation did not mince word as he assessed the almost six years of APC in the state, revealing that residents across Kaduna wished the current administration never happened, according to him blatant disregard for due process by Governor elRufai was legendary.
While speaking on neutrality of election umpire in the state, the party chairman expressed skepticism in the ability of State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECOM) to be fair to the opposition in the upcoming Local Government election, which he said his party was rigged out in the previous one held under Governor El-Rufai, calling on the Governor to uphold his oath of office to be truthful, honest and committed to the sanctity of the constitution.
He charged chairmen and committee members to carry out their assignments With diligence, commitments and loyalty for progress and unity of the party ahead 2023.
Shehu Bawa ABG who was appointed to head repositioning committee reiterated desire and passion to deliver the mandate entrusted on him and members of his committee, adding that PDP remained the party that would rescue Nigeria from ineptitudes and lack of direction at state and federal level.
The former Federal lawmaker urged Nigerians to juxtapose their present state of socio-economic and security to what was obtainable while PDP was in power , stating that life had never been difficult for Nigerians as majority of households, he said could not afford cycles of decent meals daily.
