The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan on Wednesday said there is no rift between him and Governor Seyi Makinde.
Engineer Olaniyan in a statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant on Media Mr. Omolere Omoetan, made available to newsmen in Ibadan stated that there was no basis for any rift between him and the governor.
The Oyo state deputy governor pointed out that a report claiming that he “has vowed never to end rift with his boss” was “not only baseless, but a figment of the author’s imagination, saying,
He stressed that even if there was any rift, as a true Muslim, he would seek for resolution and not take a stand that was contrary to common sense.
According to Engineer Olaniyan, he has a mandate “to work with His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde, Governor of Oyo State, to serve the people of Oyo State as the Deputy Governor”, and that he was totally committed to doing so and would not be distracted by reports emanating from shady sources and mischief makers”.
The Deputy governor tasked the people of Oyo state to disregard the statement attributed to him by the phantom source quoted in the malicious report, adding that, for the avoidance doubt, he would continue to work assiduously with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, to provide good governance to the people in line with governor’s ideals and vision.
Engineer Olaniyan however cautioned “the forces working to cause disaffection between him and the governor to look for better things to do as their machinations and conspiracies had failed on arrival.”
