The Chairman of All farmer’s Association of Nigeria [AFAN] Jigawa State chapter, Alhaji Idris Mai Unguwa Jaga has commended the Jigawa State Government’ for the commencement of distribution of agricultural farm input as palliatives to farmers affected by flood and rainfall disaster in Jigawa State.
The chairman made this known during the flag off of distribution of relief materials to three thousand farmers affected by flood and rainfall disaster in Malam Madori Local Government’ Area.
He also urged the affected farmers to utilize the items given to them to ease their sufferings.
The items distributed are certified seed of sesame, sorghum, rice and millet.
Others are herbicides, insecticidal powder and sprayer machines.
Other benefitting councils include Miga, Kafin Hausa, and Auyo where farmers lost large consignments of farm produce washed away by flood.
Speaking separately, the association’s chairman of the affected council called on the farmers to make good use of the donated items judiciously.
In Malam- Madori, the chairman of the All Farmers Association of Nigeria, Musa Maiguna urged the farmers to utilize the items in a good way and avoid misuse of the relief materials given to them.
He also thanked Jigawa State Government for fulfilment of the promise made during the sympathy visit paid by Jigawa State officials to affected areas.
