Lagos Govt Seals Two Clubs Over Violation Of COVID-19 Protocols As Police Arrests Scores Of Fun Seekers



The Lagos State Government has sealed two night clubs for operating beyond the approved hours and contravening the CoronaVirus protocols set by the Federal and State Government.

The facilities were identified as Lounge 38 and Victoria Club in Surulere and Victoria Island axis of the state.

Aside from sealing the premises, the state COVID-19 enforcement team led by Commissioner of Police, Lagos Command, Hakeem Odumosu, also detained dozens of fun-seekers that were found to have contravened the protocol in the facilities.

Also, the enforcement team which include officials of Lagos Safety Commission, arrested some motorists found on different highways violating the 12 to 4am curfew imposed by the apex government across the country.

It was learnt that the team visited the night clubs at about 1 am on Saturday and found the fun-seekers violating the approved number for public gathering by the government.

The police public relations officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi confirmed the arrest in a release made available to journalists.

It reads, ” The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, CP Hakeem Odumosu, today 9th January, 2021,personally led a team of Police officers and men to enforce COVID-19 protocols across the state. 

The Police Chief and team lonced on Lounge 38, Bode Thomas, Surulere and arrested scores clubbing at about 1am which was contrary to the state government COVID-19 oreders u  Lagos State. 

 His team also arrested some for violating the 12 to 4am curfew at Marland. He has vowed to do everything possible with the ambit of the law to enforce the orders and halt the spread of the pandemic in Lagos State”.
