Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update, 1,664 New Cases, Total 94,369, As 261 Recover In Kaduna



In Nigeria, 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja had 1,664 cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Wednesday January 6, 2021.
The following list shows how the pandemic spread across the country on Wednesday: Lagos 642, FCT 407, Plateau 160, Kaduna 83, Rivers 62, Adamawa 47, Nasarawa 38, Abia 29, Edo 28, Anambra 27, Niger 24, Ogun 24, Imo 15, Oyo 14, Kano 12, Osun 12, Borno 9, Delta 7, Enugu 7, Bauchi 5, Ekiti 5, Sokoto 5 and Jigawa 2.
In its daily update on COVID-19 cases in Nigeria, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced that as of 11.53 p.m. on 6th January 2021 Nigeria has had a total of 94,369 confirmed cases of the worldwide virus since the index case was detected in the nation.
Out of the total, 77,299 people have been treated of the global disease and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,324 people who tested positive to the illness have died in the country to date.
COVID-19 killed five patients in Nigeria on Wednesday, according to NCDC records.
NCDC reported that its discharges on Wednesday included 388 community recoveries in Lagos State, 261 in Kaduna State, 87 in Plateau State and 20 in Imo State managed in line with guidelines.
