Jigawa Hisbah Destroys 3,000 Cartons Of Alcohol, Disposes 9,637 Cases

Jigawa State offices of the Hisbah Board has announced that it has disposed 9,637 criminal, and civil cases, as well as destroyed over 3,000 cartons of alcohol in different locations between January to December last year, the state Commander, Ustaz Ibrahim Dahiru Garki has disclosed.

Amongst the cases were 5,060 criminal, and civil, transfer of 120 cases to civil courts, 685 to the police for further interrogations, as well as settlement of minor matrimonial fueds.

Speaking to the New Nigerian in his office in Dutse, he said that this includes repatriation of 701 Almajiris, and 12 lunaticsi to their respective homes, arresting 101 commercial sex workers and destroying of brothels in Ringim, Kazaure, Dutse, and Gumel local government areas in Jigawa State.

Others include reconciliation of 3,079 matrimonial cases, 112 farmers and nomads fued, 1,400 theft cases, four rape cases, 7 Homosexual, 149 Adultery cases, 4 abortion cases, and arrest of 454 consumers of alcohol.

Similarly, the board said that it has offered  assistance to 75 travellers whom were on transit to various states who ran out of transport, as well as rendering other humanitarian gestures.

According to Garki, “we held 712 preaching proceedings in over 1,661 different locations across the 27 LGA’s in Jigawa State, among rendering other humanitarian gestures.”

He contended that within the year under review, they undertook training and re- training of their personnel in crime management, public relations, among other office routine discipline to update their current affairs, and expertise for effective service delivery.

“Similarly, we intensified our level of commitment and patrols to ensure the smooth conduct of our operations in making Jigawa State crime free in collaboration with other security outfits.

He commended Governor Badaru Abubakar for his assistance, support, and patronage in respect of the activities of the command, while assuring of steady operations for effective service delivery.
