Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 838 New Cases, Total 84,414 As 160 Recover In Kaduna



Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and 15 other states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) had 838 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Sunday 27th December 2020.
The following list shows how the pandemic ravaged the country on Sunday: FCT 297, Lagos 253, Plateau 82, Kaduna 57, Katsina 32, Nasarawa 31, Kano 25, Gombe 24, Oyo 8, Rivers 8, Zamfara 7, Ogun 4, Bauchi 4, Edo 4, Anambra 1 and Sokoto 1.
In its daily update of the global disease, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) reported that as of 11.25 p.m. on 27th December 2020 Nigeria had recorded a total of 84,414 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections since the index case was found in the country.
Out of the total, 71,034 patients who tested positive for the virus had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,254 deaths caused by the worldwide disease had been recorded to date in the nation, according to NCDC.
Seven patients were killed by COVID-19 in Nigeria on Sunday.
The disease control agency said that its discharges on December 27, 2020 included 225 community recoveries in Lagos State and 160 community recoveries in Kaduna State managed in line with guidelines.
