Low Key Christmas Marked In Kano – Resident



Christians in Kano State has celebrated this year's Christmas in a peaceful manner despite the present global  economic situation that often forces us to celebrate in a low key gathering and due to comply with the COVID-19 regulations that  also enforce social distancing".

This was expressed by Mr. Uche Emmanuel of Sabon Gari community in Kano metropolis when our correspondent visited  to monitor this year's Christmas festivities in the area and some parts of the rural areas where other Christians reside.

He said that certainly this year's Christmas  is ongoing in a low key  due to the reasons he listed previously.

He commended the Kano State Government' for taking excellent measures to ensure that the Christmas celebration is hitch free in the area of security and peaceful coexistence and assured that the Christians living in Kano would remain law abiding at all the times  like what is being witnessed across the state.

Mr. Uche added that,  "we are in Kano living peacefully with the people and government of the state, and I want to clear the air that Kano people are good citizens because they give us all the necessary support that is important towards the progress of our togetherness, we are proud of this relationship,". He concluded.

New Nigerian visited some local government areas where our correspondent gathered that some Christians stayed at the towns and villages that they operate their businesses while others remained and celebrated with their families and invited guests like what has been happening for over 20 years.
