Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,133 New Cases, Total 80,922

Seventeen states of Nigeria and its Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja were infected with 1,133 cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic on Wednesday 23rd December 2020.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control’s (NCDC) list of COVID-19-infected areas on Wednesday contained the following names: Lagos 397, FCT 357, Kaduna 81, Plateau 63, Katsina 46, Sokoto 32, Oyo 28, Ogun 21, Kano 19, Rivers 18, Osun 13, Edo 12, Niger 12, Bayelsa 11, Borno 11, Bauchi 8, Jigawa 2 and Ondo 2.
As of 11.27 p.m. on 23rd December 2020 Nigeria had recorded a total of80,922 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections since the index case was found in the country.
Out of the total, 69,274 patients who suffered attack by the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,236 persons had died as a result of COVID-19 infection in the country during the period under review.
Five patients died of COVID-19-related attacks in Nigeria on Wednesday.
NCDC reported that itsdischarges yesterday included 134 community recoveries in Lagos State and 96 community recoveries in the FCT managed in line with guidelines.
