Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni has signed into law the state’s 2021 finance and appropriation bill.
The signing ceremony took place at the Banquet Hall Government House Damaturu.
It would be recalled that on November 12, 2020, Governor Mai Mala Buni presented the 2021 finance and appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly for Legislative scrutiny.
After extensive scrutiny of the bill by the house of Assembly, the Governor ascended to the bill to become the 2021 finance and appropriation bill.
Speaking shortly after the signing the bill, Governor Mai Mala Buni explained that, the 2021 budget is a budget of Recovery, consolidation and economic Rejuvenation.
He maintained that the budget centered on completion of all ongoing projects across the state for the benefit of Yobeans as well as for government to have value for money.
Governor Mai Mala Buni commended Yobe state House of Assembly for making some adjustments in the budget, reducing allocation for recurrent services and increasing the allocation of capital projects.
Similarly, Governor Buni has sworn-in the Chairman house of Assembly Commission and 5 Permanent members of the Commission.
The Governor who congratulated the Chairman and the Permanent members on their appointment, adding that they were appointed based on merit, calling on them to justify the confidence reposed on them for the development of the state.
Those sworn-in are Alhaji Muhammad Nur Alkali as Chairman of the Commission while Hajiya Hajara Lawan, Hajiya Asmau Kabiru Kolo, Alhaji Malunta Barau, Muhammad Muhammad Bara as well as Barrister Aliyu Shehu as Permanent members.
