The Comptroller General of Nigeria (NIS) Muhammadu Babandede has has approved and upgraded the Festac Passport Office in Lagos to issue Enhanced-Passport.
This brings to seven the number of passport offices upgraded so far by the Comptroller General.
Inaugurating the process on Tuesday, Babandede advised passport applicants to shun touts and ensure they pay online and not cash to help fight touting in all our passport offices across the country.
In a release by the national public relations officer of NIS Sunday James a, Deputy Comptroller, Babandede was represented by the Zonal Coordinator,Zone A, Lagos Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Service ACG Doris Braimah,a woman of many plus.
The release reads, “The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service Muhammad Babandede MFR has approved the flag off of the 7th passport office upgraded to issue enhanced passport today the 22nd December,2020.
The Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service was ably represented by the Zonal Coordinator,Zone A, Lagos Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration Service ACG Doris Braimah,a woman of many plus.
She has distinguished herself in the Command assignments in Ogun,Lagos and now Coordinator Zone A,Lagos.
These are commands that demand a strong hearted,dedicated,highly professional and diplomatic personality with the love of the country at heart even above the service,walking in the shoes of a mentor,leader who will always refuse encomium that is personalised rather an Institutional focus leader.
Today the Institution Nigeria Immigration Service is attaining global recognition with partnership from International development partners like the International Organisation for Migration (IOM),Koica, Swiss government, Kingdom of Netherlands, Spain etc working side by side to emplace a global Migration Service in Africa.
The FESTAC Passport Centre is under Deputy Comptroller Adeola Adesokan a season Immigration Attachee that served meritoriously while on foreign mission before returning to Nigeria after she completed her duty tour,a versatile and articulate officer,that transformed FESTAC Passport office within the first two months of her resumption, curbing all acts of corruption associated with extra charges and touting by third party influence which has dented the service image overtime,with the enhanced passport.
Applicants are expected to apply online,pay online and approach the passport office with evidence of payment and a National Identity Number issued by NIMC,and be Enrolled for their choice passport booklet either a 32 Page 5year,64 Page 5Year,64Page 10year all in the interest of Nigerians home and in the Diaspora.
