Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 356 New Cases, Total 78,790

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja was on top with 79 of the list of areas infected with 356 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) in Nigeria on Monday 21st December 2020. It was followed by 14 states, namely: Lagos 59, Kaduna 56, Katsina 37, Nasarawa 30, Kano 25, Edo 18, Gombe 14, Kebbi 12, Akwa Ibom 7, Rivers 7, Sokoto 7, Abia 3, Ogun 1 and Cross River 1.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its twitter account on Monday that as of 11.45 p.m. on 21st December 2020 Nigeria had recorded a total of 78,790 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic infections since the index case was reported in the country.
Out of the total, 68,483 patients who were afflicted with the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,227 persons had been killed by the disease in the nation since the index case occurred there.
Nigeria lost nine lives to COVID-19 on Monday.
“Our discharges today include 59 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines,” NCDC said on Monday.
