Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 920 New Cases, Total 77,933

There were 920 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in Nigeria on Saturday December 19, 2020.
The new COVID-19  infections spread across 17 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja  as follows: Lagos 308, FCT 207, Kaduna 179, Plateau 46, Niger 43, Adamawa 26, Sokoto 18, Rivers 16, Yobe 15, Enugu 13, Kano 13, Ogun 12, Delta 10, Edo 5, Osun 3, Oyo 3, Anambra 2 and Ekiti 1.
Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its twitter platform that as of 11.23 p.m. on 19th December 2020 Nigeria has had a total of 77,933 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic infections since the index case was reported in the country.
Out of the total, 67,784 patients who tested positive for the worldwide virus had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,218 persons were killed by the pandemic during the period under review.
According to NCDC’s account, six COVID-19 patients died in Nigeria on Saturday.
Also, the disease control agency said: “Our discharges on Saturday include 115 community recoveries in Kaduna State and 104 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.”
