Zamfara State First Lady, Hajia Aisha Bello Matawalle has assured of her destination to continue to create enabling environment for economic emancipation of women and less privileged in the society.
A statement by the Press Secretary office of the first lady, Zainab Shua’ibu said the governor’s wife gave the assurance while flagging of the distribution of items and farm equipments for farmers and processors by the International Fund for Agriculture Development and the Climate Adaptation and Agribusiness Support Programme (IFAD-CASP), Zamfara support office.
Hajia Aisha said her main thrust is to ensure that women particularly the less privileged are given needed support gor them to become economically viable to be able to be self reliant and contributor to the economy of the state.
The First Lady represented by the Special Adviser, Hajia Fatimah Musa Muhammad described the IFAD-CASP empowerment programme as a needed Catalyst for the growth of the state.
Hajia Aisha added that her office is currently implementing several social protection and empowerment programmes for women in the state in its bid to give women economic value in the society.
She reiterated the zeal of the governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle’s administration to give women needed assistance and support for them to excel in all their endeavours.
The governor’s wife called on the beneficiaries especially the women to make judicious use of the items and equipments to enable the state derive benefits from their efforts.
The items and equipments distributed includes 385 grinding machines for women entrepreneurs, 300 irrigation water pumping machines for dry season irrigation farmers, 8 animal traction, two power tillers and four groundnut extraction machines.
The first Lady also flagged off the disbursement of cheques to community investment associations and soft loan to FDA members.
