A Non Governmental Organization Accountability Lab Nigeria, (ALNG), is to partner with Kaduna State Government in it’s Inclusion Project in the state.

Team Lead Civic Action of ALNG, Shiiwua Mnenga, disclosed during a meeting with officials held at the Department of Development Aid Coordination, Kaduna State Ministry of Planning & Budget on Wednesday.

He said the meeting was to brief the Govt of the project in the state, its content, approach and the expected outcome; and also to seek the state’s buy in.

According to him, the Project is designed to give voices to the marginalized members of the society particularly the women, Persons with Disability, (PWDs), and the youth.

Nnenga lauded the effort of the Governor Nasir el-Rufai-led administration in the state at ensuring that more citizens are included in participation of governance.

“ALNG is in the state to support the government for a better society to ensure more people are included in participation of governance which the State Govt in general is seriously working on.

“One of our prayers is that after data collection we’ll still come back to have this kind of engagement and communicate what our survey findings are.

“This is the essence of the letter earlier sent to your office and also formed the bedrock of this meeting today so that we can first seek your understanding of the project and buy in,” he said.

Responding, the Senior Planning Officer, Shinkut Hilary Sheyin, who spoke on behalf of the Director, Development Aid Coordination, Salisu Lawal Baba, thanked ALNG for coming to support and compliment the efforts of the state government.

He said there is need for the group to work hand in- hand with the State Bureau of Statistics in carrying out it survey, since the Agency is a key stakeholder to data collection in the state.

According to him, “It is important the Bureau of Statistics is informed before hand in order to have a harmonized and validated report.”

Sheyin further said the state government would be happy to collaborate with Accountability Lab NG going forward.

“Our doors are always open whenever you need assistance on anything we’ll be willing to help anytime,” he added.
