Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 1,145 New Cases, Total 76,207

There were 1,145 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) infections in Nigeria on Thursday December 17, 2020.
The new COVID-19 infections were found in 23 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja as follows: Lagos 459, FCT 145, Kaduna 138, Plateau 80, Katsina 70, Gombe 51, Niger 31, Kano 23, Bayelsa 21, Bauchi 18, Ondo 18, Rivers 17, Ogun 12, Oyo 12, Edo 8, Nasarawa 8, Ebonyi  7, Osun 6, Ekiti 5, Kebbi 5, Borno 4, Jigawa 3, Akwa Ibom 2 and Anambra 1.
As of 11.11 p.m. on December 17, 2020 Nigeria had recorded a total of 76,207 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was reported in the country.
Out of the total, 67,110 cases had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,200 people had been killed by the worldwide virus during the period under review, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on its twitter handle yesterday.
The pandemic killed one person in Nigeria on Thursday.
