National Chairman of Nigeria Football Supporters Club (NFSC) Rev. Samuel Ikpea was on Tuesday re- elected to lead the club for the next four years. Ikpea who ran unopposed got 99% of the votes to be declared winner of the election held at the National Secretariat of the club in Ojuelegba, Surulere, Lagos.
Also elected were: Comrade Tinubu Olutayo and Hon. Zakari Abdullahi as 1st and 2nd national vice chairmen respectively while the post of Secretary General went to Olowu Victor Omoniyi with the post of Assistant Secretary General going to Ofoha Chukwuemeka.
Ogbe John won the post of treasurer while Olaniyan Oloalade emerged as the financial secretary. Balogun Nureni Rasheed was elected assistant financial secretary just as the post of social secretary was won by Amusan Muyiwa while kabiru Yusuf and Rita Aniefor emerged as welfare officers with Dominic Ehimare and Sunday Madu elected publicity secretary and Chief Whip respectively while Barrister Maximus Ikechukwu, Abioye Oluwafemi, Agboma Jude and Ifebi Athanasius will serve as ex- officials.
Speaking after his swearing in ceremony, Ikpea noted that his second tenure will usher in more unity and progress for the club. He commended the past executive for their harmonious working relationship with him which made his job easy just as he employed the new ones to put in their best so that the club will achieve greater height.
Ikpea noted that as usual, he will run an open door policy and consult widely before arriving at any decision which he said contributed to the successes he recorded in the last four years of being in charge.
President General of the Club Dr. Rafiu OLadipo who was full of praises to the chairman charged him to carry everybody along in order to maintain the momentum of successes that characterized his first tenure even as he described the overwhelming support he got in the election as evidence of his leadership qualities.
