Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 796 New Cases, Total 72,140

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja led fifteen other states in Nigeria in recording 796 new cases of Novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in Nigeria on Friday 12th December 2020.
Names and numbers of the new infection per areas affected by the pandemic yesterday are as follows: FCT 258, Lagos 248, Kaduna 52, Katsina 52, Ogun 27, Kwara 23, Gombe 22, Adamawa 17, Plateau 15, Kano 6, Rivers 2, Ondo 2, Ekiti 2, Nasarawa 2, Sokoto 2 and Taraba 1.
As of 11.50 p.m. on 11th December 2020 Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced that the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRG) has had a total of 72,140 confirmed cases of COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was detected in the nation.
Out of the total, 65,722 cases had been treated and discharged from the nation’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,190 deaths arising from the worldwide virus had been reported in the country during the period under review.
The disease killed nobody in Nigeria on Friday.
