Nigeria’s COVID-19 Update: 550 New Cases, Total 70,195

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that it detected 550 new cases of Novel CoronaVirus disease (COVID-19) infections in the country on Tuesday 8th December 2020.
The new COVID-19 pandemic infections were found in sixteen states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja in the following order: Lagos 219, FCT 168, Kaduna 52, Kwara 19, Kano 15, Rivers 15, Sokoto 10, Enugu 9, Gombe 8, Plateau 7, Osun 7, Anambra 5, Oyo 5, Ogun 4, Bauchi 2 and Edo 1.
As of 11.25 p.m. on 8th December 2020 the Federal Republic of Nigeria (FRN) had been infected with a total of 70,195 confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the index case was reported in the country.
Out of the total, 65,110 COVID-19-positive patients had been treated and discharged from Nigeria’s COVID-19 isolation centres, while 1,182 deaths caused by the worldwide virus were recorded in the nation during the period under review.
One death relating to the disease happened in the country on Tuesday.
