A former governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, has held a special meeting with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Femi Gbajabiamila, at his office in Abuja to discuss security issues and to demand compensation for the victims of the genocide and kidnappings in. Northern Nigeria.

Bafarawa told the Speaker that it was time to take action to provide relief to the affected communities and to come up with solutions to attacks, kidnappings and other security threats.
Bafarawa handed over to the Speaker, a number of documents containing the names and assets of others who have lost their lives as a result of various attacks and massacres in Northern Nigeria.
In his address, the Speaker, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, lauded Bafarawa.
He said he would look into the needs of the Bafarawa Foundation and those involved in advocacy to take appropriate action.
He also thanked him for the visit and assured the former governor and his team of continued cooperation to move the country forward.
