Hemophilia Foundation of Nigeria (HFN), has asked the Federal Government to give the go-ahead and allow the foundation setup a committee that will draw up a framework that will educate and help government fully participate in the management and treatment of persons with the blood disorder as this is nonexistent for now.
This was disclosed by Mrs. Megan Adediran in a chat with the New Nigerian in Kaduna.
According to her, “the foundation has found sponsors, that is how we fund the committee that will draw up the framework that will allow government’s participation/partnership with the HFN in the diagnosis, management and treatment of persons with the blood disorder in the country and how to provide hospitals and treatment centres across the country.
“Since the inception of HFN, government’s involvement in our activities and achievements has been near non-existent. We’ve spoken minister of health and were told to look for funding for the committee. Now, that has been achieved as the World Federation for Hemophilia (WFH) and Roche Pharmaceuticals have decided to fund the committee that will design the framework.”
She added that all the foundation is waiting for is government’s approval for the committee to commence its work.
“It’s government’s approval for the committee to commence its work that the foundation awaits,” she explained.
The foundation was founded with the sole aim of bringing succour to persons with Hemophilia conditions.
