A group, Ojo Ola Oyo” on Tuesday declared that the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare is not only repositioning the Ministry for greatness, but equally providing profound, clean leadership worthy of emulation by the youths.
The non- governmental organization promoting Youth and Good Governance stated this in a statement by its Founder, Alhaji Kehinde Olaosebikan, made available to newsmen in Ibadan
In the statement, the group specifically lauded the Ministerr for rejecting the humongous bill of N81million presented by Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) for the cutting of grass in MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, saying the gesture clearly shows the disciplined and prudent management of the affairs of the ministry demonstrated by the Minister.
“With the rejection, Mr. Dare who has been variously rated as one of the best performing Ministers in the Buhari’s administration has shown discipline and incorruptibility against the common traits of sleaze and corruption reportedly prevailing in most public organizations today.”, he said
Alhaji Olaosebikan added that the Minister was “not only repositioning the Ministry of Youth and Sports for greatness, but equally providing profound, clean leadership worthy of emulation by the youths.
Stressing that Nigeria needs more of Sunday Dare in the running of her affairs”, the founder of Ojo Ola Oyo said, “the best way to tackle corruption which was already endemic in our system is to ensure that people of integrity are put in charge of ministries and agencies of government.”
Alhaji Olaosebikan maintained that Mr Dare “was able to resist the bait of huge reward from the humongous bill by rejecting it totally confirmed that he was indeed an effective and virtuous public officer.”, and that “as the representative of Oyo State in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, the people of Oyo State are well pleased with his stellar performance adding that the latest commendable incorruptible conduct of the Minister has further assured us that with Sunday Dare in charge at any level, the future of the youths and the entire people is guaranteed.”
The outstandingly credible award winning newspaper (online) in Nigeria, The Premium Times recently rated the Sports Minister, Mr. Sunday Dare along with the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami as the best performing ministers in Buhari’s administration.
It will be recalled that Sunday Dare had last Friday during a parley with the Sports Writers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja explained how he rejected 81m bill presented to the ministry by the Abuja Environmental Protection Board for cutting of the grass in the MKO Abiola Stadium.
