It was a joyous moment at the weekend when the people of Gyel District in Jos South LGA, delightfully received their Senator, Hon. I.D. Gyang on his visit to inspect the reconstruction of D. B. Zang Road, one among many of his constituency projects, which is almost completed after 6 days of rigorous non-stop work.
The project extends from D B ZANG Junction down to COCIN LCC Rankyen, Gyel.
In his speech during the visit, the Senator expressed gratitude to God for the grace to finally execute this long overdue project that initially defied all attempts of intervention.
He also stressed that in addition to the fact that the road is being constructed to honour the people of Gyel by granting one of their most prioritized requests, there are three other reasons of the significance of the project.
According to him the project is In honour of the his Royal Highness, Da Nga Dagyang, the longest serving traditional ruler in Northern Nigeria, who is marking his 60th anniversary on the throne.
He explained that work was eguallly done in honour of the reputable name that the road bears, the great Da D. B. Zang, of blessed memory, the very first Da-loh of Berom Land, an astute politician, a great entrepreneur who in his days was rich and benevolent enough to even lend the state government money to pay its workers at some point.
In honour of a key political figure, a rallying point, Da Choji Zang. The road extends to the doorsteps of Da Choji’s house.
The Senator also paid a courtesy call on the Gwom Rwei Gyel, Da Nga Dagyang together with his chiefs and other community leaders.
Responding, on behalf of the community leaders and the entire people of Gyel District, the Dagwom Rwei of Gyel, Da Nga Dagyang, expressed unreserved gratitude to the Senator for his commendable stewardship and the timely intervention.
He added that he counts it a blessing that this long overdue and highly significant project is being executed durin his reign.
He showered prayers and blessings on the Senator and encouraged him to keep up the good work.
