Ogun: Controller Of Customs, Kolo Sounds Note Of Warning To Smugglers, Says Hard Times Awaits Dealers

The new Controller of Customs, Ogun 1 Area Command, Idi-Iroko, Ogun State, Comptroller, Peter Chado Kolo has sounded a note of warning to all business men and women operating in the border areas to desist from illicit businesses saying hard times awaits smugglers.

The new Controller  who assumed duty on Wednesday November 25, 2020 gave this warning while taking over the Command from the iutgone Comptroller, Michael Agbara who was posted to the headquarters of Nigeria Customs Service Abuja .

According to him, anybody who engages in genuine business, the Customs is on ground to arrange and facilitate business for them legally saying, “those who embark on illegal and illicit ways of doing business hard time awaits them”

“If they are for genuine business we are on ground to arrange and facilitate for them, but for illegal trading, they should not think that Agbara has gone and they would enjoy free day. No,hard time await anybody found in that category

“Customs works are the same and Officers were trained in the same ways. Whether Comptroller Agbara or no Agbara they would meet a stunbing block. Tell them, hard time await dealers in illicit businesses” Controller Kolo stressed affirmatively.

He also urged all Officers to wake up to their repsonsibilites as he is prepared to carry everybody along so as to improve on the Command’s performance and also enhance  Customs image.

The new Controller also  employed community leaders as well as the entire community members to cooperate with him to ensure  good success at the end of his tenure.

In his own address, the out gone Controller, Michael Agbara urged officers to cooperate with the new Controller to achieve a desire success saying, Customs works must cotinue .

“Although,  am living the Customs works still remains and it must cotinue,we must joying hands to finally stop illegal smuggling.You must give all you have to curtail anti smuggling Agbara” stated

He also expressed his appreciations to the entire border community for their support saying, “although it is going to be a mixfelling while some would be happy that at last ,Agbara is gone some might not see it that way”

“It is the nature of the work and we must do it that way for the nation’s sake and for the betterment of all  citizens. Yes,  am happy that I have served here, I lived with the community members and we have come to understand each other that Agbara  would not give room for illegal businesses”.Agbara stated.
