President of Myuaythai Federation of Nigeria, (MFN), Comrade Paul Egonu has pleaded with the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Honourable Sunday Dare, to honour their prayers by granting them letter of approval ahead Edo 2020 National Sports Festival (NSF).
He disclosed this to New Nigerian Sports in a telephone chat from Port Harcourt.
According to him, the Federation is requesting a letter of approval from the Ministry of Sports to further authenticate the team’s participation as a demonstration sport at the festival.
The MFN in a 2-page letter addressed to the Sports Ministry, reminded them that the approval letter has been a norm since the Edo 2002 and Ogun 2006 editions of the festival.
The Federation was given the go ahead to feature as a demonstration sport at the forthcoming Edo 2020 early this year, at a joint meeting between the main organising committee and members of the federation led by its President, Comrade Paul Egonu in Benin City.
Meanwhile, President Muaythai Federation of Nigeria has directed state directors to open camp for athletes ahead of the National Sports Festival in Benin City the Edo State capital.
