The Minister of Works, Babatunde Raji Fashola has been called upon to constitute a high powered committee that would supervise the ongoing repairs on Kano-Daura Road which is substandard despite being a single carriage plied by high number of motorists linking to some neighbouring countries.
The call was made by the National Democratic Support Group (NDSG) in a press statement signed and issued to our correspondent in Kano, by its National President, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigata where they lamented that the potholes that were filled still remain threats to vehicle owners while some portions need complete overlay to make the highway safer.
The group said that, "We respect FERMA which was established to repair Nigeria's to pay more attention to the road due to the high number of accidents that are usually recorded as a result of dilapidated state," the statement said.
In conclusion, the group commended the Minister for Works and his ministry for taking good measures on Nigerian roads, hoping that the ongoing walls fixings on Dambatta Road would also be looked upon because the ones that are being installed cannot serve the purpose.
