Bauchi To Boost Local Peace, Security Committee Members Morale

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthen the activities of peace and security committee in the state in the bid to encourage such drives.

Receiving the committee members who paid him a visit at the Government House, Bauchi Friday, the governor thanked them for their selfless service to humanity, and assured them of his administration’s support in order to ensure that security is maintained in the state.

The governor also sympathized with the committee members over the attack on their office in Bauchi metropolis, assuring that security agencies will identify those involved in the brigandage so as to serve as deterrent to others. 

“Government and everybody knows what you are doing in the maintenance of peace and security in the society, especially in assisting security agencies in information gathering and community reconciliation, among others.”

According to him, Government has taken very strong measures in the short, medium and long term to ensure that activities of the peace and security committee is further strengthened, as government will also continue to encourage them contribute to the peace and security of the state.

Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House Bauchi, Dr Ladan Salihu, the governor pledged continued support to security agencies and other local security volunteers as a measure to overcome and tackle security challenges across the state. 

The Chairman of the group, Sani Yakubu has earlier said that despite the attack on the office, the committee will not relent in working against all forms of criminal activities and social vices in the society. 

He explained that the attack has ginger the morale of the members of the peace and security committee to redouble effort by coming up with new plans of protecting the lives and property of the citizens.
