The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara State has expressed optimism that the party’s candidate Lawal Dambo will win the December 5 bye election for the Bakura State Constituency in the Zamfara State House of Assembly.
This was disclosed by the party’s leader in Zamfara State, Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi in an interview with journalists in Gusau.
Shinkafi who was the APGA Zamfara state governorship candidate during the 2019 general said the party have big hope of victory in the bye-lection as the party fielded it candidate for the Bakura state assembly constituency bye election inline with INEC guidelines.
He said the party conducted it primaries inline with the Section 87 of the Electoral Act. 2010 as amended which Alhaji Lawal Dambo emerged as APGA candidate for the bye election.
“We are very ready, we have strong hope of winning the election, we believe in our grassroots in Bakura, as we have strong support in Bakura,” he said.
The APGA former National Secretary called on politicians in the state irrespective their political affiliations to support present administration of Governor Bello Matawalle to move the state forward.
“I am calling on politicians in the state to allow present administration to execute meaningful development projects for the benefits Zamfara people,” he said.
It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rescheduled the Bakura Constituency of State House of Assembly bye election for December 5.
