A’Ibom 2020 Press Week: Journalists To Battle Doctors On Football Field



Ahead of the friendly match between members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Akwa Ibom State Council and their counterparts in the Nigeria Medical Association (NNA), the Pen Pushers of NUJ held a second training session on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at the NUJ Press Centre playground.

The friendly soccer between NUJ’s Pen Pushers and NMA team is part of the activities to mark this year’s Press Week of the Union in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital.
The technical crew has extended invitation to goalkeeper Edidiong Udobia and midfielder Anietie Esu. They are to report at the training ground with their training kits. 
In a built-up development, the Pen Pushers will play a test game against Real Fit All Stars Club on Saturday morning at same venue by 9am as part of preparations for the big game against NMA scheduled for next month. 
Coach Mfon Patrick took charge of the first trainnig session on Tuesday where more than ten players participated. 
Some of the players which featured on Tuesday’s training were, Captain Bassey Ibiatisuho, Vice Captain Godwin Akpan, Ene John, Ubong Inyang,  Uko Edet,  Nsibiet John, Kufre Edet, Ekemini Bassey, Edidiong Udobia and Anietie Esu.
The training session was witnessed by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Amos Etuk, Chairman of NAWOJ, Comrade Uduak Ekong, Comrade Patience John and some friends of the Union.
