Sustainable Peace: Narayi Vigilante Appeals For Kaduna Police Cooperation

In its bid to ensure  peaceful coexistence at the community level in the state,  Nigeria Police Force has been called upon to take vigilante group as partners in progress in the area of ensuring security in the community level.

The Kaduna State Vigilante officer in charge of Narayi Ward, Mr. David Thomas Saka made the appeal in his office in an interview with our reporter, calling on the police  to assist them with the needed items to aid their work in the area of maintaining peace and order.

According to the officer, since the office was established in the ward on November 24, 2019, they have been able to resolve many domestic cases as well as recorded a lot of progress in the area of ensuring security in the ward with the help of Police Force but still need their support for more results.

“We entirely depend on them for effective results because even the law that established the group states our sole responsibility as supporting role to the Police Force,” he stated.

He added that they face some challenges  while trying to reduce drugs abuse and other social vices among youth but has been able  to reduce its intake drastically in the area.

The officer added that the office had over the time recorded  60 per cent  improvement in the area of security since it was established in the ward.

In the area of cooperation from the people, the officer commended the residents of Narayi ward for their efforts in terms of giving the needed information to the group.

He however,  appealed to public spirited individuals in the area to assist them with working materials such as, torch lights, communication gadgets among others items. in order to ensure effective service delivery among the officers.
