The Chief Imam of As-sadeeq Jumuat Mosque, Lafia in Nasarawa State, Sheikh Ahmad Babayo has applauded the efforts of the Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle in fighting banditry and bad policies in governance.

Sheikh Babayo gave the advise during a weekly sermon, saying the  commitment demonstrated by the governor to end banditry in the state was a clear concern of love to the people of the state.
“It is very clear that, governor Matawalle has the people at hear by taking giant stride to end banditry, especially, by series of committees he has set up on the banditry.
He urged the congregation to fervently pray for the end of banditry and other insurgency in the country.
“The promise by Governor Matawalle’s administration to punish any one found to be aiding and abetting the crime no matter his status is a clear demonstration that he is ready to rid the state of crimes,” he said.
Sheikh Babayo also warmed against abuse and castigation of elders, but rather continue praying for their success.
The Chief Imam however, enjoined other state governors to emulate Matawalle to demonstrate serious commitment in the fight against crime and entrench justice and fair play in governance.
The Islamic Cleric also commended the decision of Governor Matawalle to reject N10 million pension to the former governors describing it as a positive step and a sign of good governance.
