The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), has described late Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa as a visionary and detribalised leader who treated all sections of the state justly, fairly, and equitably without bias.
The Southern Kaduna people also described the late old Kaduna State Governor as a crusader for social justice who relentlessly engaged in fighting for the masses until his death.
“We shall surely miss him,” the President, SOKAPU, Jonathan Asake in a condolence message on Saturday in Kaduna lamented.
He said, “The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, wishes to convey our heartfelt condolence to the family members of the former governor of old Kaduna state, the government and people of Kaduna state over the demise of Alhaji Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa whose sad event occurred on Wednesday November 11, 2020 after a brief illness.
“The people of Southern Kaduna will forever remember the late governor for the many landmark achievements recorded during his tenure.
“It is on record that under his administration, Alhaji Balarabe Musa evolved a robust blueprint for the industrialisation of the State which led to the establishment of many industries across the state. These industries included the Kachia Ginger Factory, Ikara Tomato Processing Factory, Zaria Pharmaceuticals among many others.” The statement explained that it is also on record that during his regime, there were massive establishment of schools, primary healthcare centres across the state. His policies were geared towards strengthening small scale businesses and infrastructural development that were evenly distributed, irrespective of party affiliation, religion or ethnicity.
“He was a visionary and detribalised leader who treated all sections of the state justly, fairly, and equitably without bias. This was reflected in the citing of projects evenly across the state, unlike what obtains today, where we continue to experience discriminatory policies, abuse of human rights, arrogance of power and brazen disregard for the rule of law, including all forms of impunity,” the statement explained.
The statement noted that late Alhaji Balarabe Musa remained consistent in the fight for human rights and dignity of the human person, even outside the corridors of power.
“Our hearts go out to the immediate family members, friends and associates for the Almighty God to grant them the fortitude to bear the pains of this irreparable loss.May God grant the soul of Alh. Balarabe Musa eternal rest,” the statement observed.
