The ongoing merger process of the two players Unions in Nigeria was consummated recently in Lagos with formal signing of a merger agreement.

Ex- International Tijani Babangida (MON) as a consensus candidate of the two unions was returned unopposed as President of the Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN).

The Executive Board of (PFAN) under the leadership of President Tijani Babangida would be Inaugurated in a forth night in Lagos. According to former NANF president Harrison Jalla, ‘Yours sincerely will now be watching how events unfold from the sidelines as an Elder statesman.  I wish our Amiable President Tijani Babangida (MON) God’s blessings and guidance in this very demanding assignment. Very many thanks to Hon. Tajudeen Ajide the Executive Chairman of Surulere local government who stood like the rock of Gibraltar in funding the merger process all through. I also Doff my hat for Elders like Dr. Felix Owolabi, coach Khadiri Ikhana, (MON), Coach Joe Erico, Emmanuel Okala (MON) and Chief Segun Odegbami ( MON) who were pillars behind the merger. I look forward to seeing new kids on the block driving the players union to the desired height.
