Seven thousand, one hundred and ninety-four (7,194) Officers and Men of the Akwa Ibom State Police  Command, including sister security agencies have been deployed to all the Polling Units and Wards in the 31 Local Government Areas of the state ahead of local government elections tomorrow, October 31, 2020.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP. Amiengheme Andrew who stated this in press statement made available to newsmen in Uyo, said the action is to provide top notch security during the elections.
CP, Andrew while assuring the people of adequate security before, during and after the election, warned residents against violating the restriction of movement order which will commence from 7:00am to 2:00pm. 

He enjoined all voters to turnout peacefully and perform their civic responsibility, while warning trouble shooters to stay away from the polling units as no acts of lawlessness will be tolerated. 
The Command Public Relations Officer, SP Odiko MacDon who the statement on behalf the Commissioner, however said that in an event of any distress within the State, the Command can be reached on 08039213071 or sent a WhatsApp message to 08084667720.
Recall the Akwa Ibom state government yesterday announced the restrictions of both human and vehicles movement within the period of 7am and 2pm th e elections would last.

During the period, all inter-state entry points leading to the state would be closed.
Information and Strategy Commissioner, Mr. Ini Ememobong in a statement said that except those on essential duties, all eligible voters are advised to stay within the premises of their polling units to exercise their franchise.
