CDGP Trains CSOs/Media On New Concepts Of Advocacy

A three days training was organized by CDGP-Action Against Hunger for CSO’s and media representatives from Jigawa State on new concepts of Advocacy and Communication.

The training which was held at Tahir Palace Hotel Kano, was intended to keep abreast CSO’s, and the Media on modern advocacy strategies in different formats for effective service delivery.

In her few remarks to the participants, the CDGP Programme Manager, Stella Esedunme stated that the objective of the training is to build the capacity of CSO’s and the Media on how to advocate effectively for social protection issues to relevant stakeholders through the application of modern methodologies and concept skills of communication disemination.

During the three days session, participants were taught various methologies on the use of appropriate communication and advocacy tools to engage with different relevant stakeholders.

During the training, the participants that were drawn from different CSOs and their counterparts, the media representatives, were availed modern monitoring techniques, data based collection and application, monitoring and evaluation, interviewing techniques, and statistics for smooth conduct of palliiatives distribution by the facilitators, to ensure that fairness, equity, transparency, among others are observed to ensure inclusiveness of beneficiaries.

The CDGP programme was aimed at strengthening social protection system under the 2-year UKAID founded programme focused on strengthening social protection system from a multi sectoral perspective to contribute to a greater coverage of inclusive and accountable social protection programmes at federal and state levels,
