HASSAN, Kano A retired civil servant with Kano State Government', Malam Dauda Abdulhamid has called on the federal and states governments to open more employment opportunities for youth to be engaged and be self-reliant and economically viable to be law abiding at all levels. He made this known in a chat with our correspondent in his response to what happened in the country during EndSARS protest. He lamented that in many places, the protest turned to mayhem where youths were seen on the frontlines of the protest scenes which mostly resulted from unemployment and injustice from some leaders. Malam Dauda added that, " if our teaming youth are given more employment in government, private sectors and by corporate bodies, the country would be peaceful especially when everybody is busy doing his own activity that would ensure his livelihood at both rural and urban settlements." In conclusion, the retired civil servant tasked the media to verify any story they get before publishing because according to him, " social media contributed in giving false news that fueled so many crisis in Nigeria. He called on the federal and states governments to sanction any media outfit that fabricates news that breach the peace in order to sanitize news reporting system in the country.
