The World Bank Agro-Processing Productivity Enhancement And Livelihood Improvement Support Project (APPEAL) Project is a good way to actualise Kaduna State’s desire to empower women.
The Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe who is the Chairperson State Steering Committee expressed this at the
Inception Meeting of the Technical Assistance for the Preparation & Review of Business Investment Plan (BIP) for Women and Youth Empowerment Programme (WYEP) Beneficiaries in Kaduna State on Thursday October 22, 2020.
Represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Kaduna State Government House Deputy Chief of Staff, Barrister James Kanyip, she stressed that the state is committed to actualising the empowering women and youth.
Speaking further, Dr. Balarabe said that the project will not only be beneficial to the state, but Nigeria.
“As you are aware, the country now is diversifying from oil to agriculture so this is a good project,” she added.
The Deputy Governor charged the beneficiaries to be good ambassadors of the state and excel in their various areas of value chain.
“I wish you well in this project, believing you will do the state proud,” she said.
She therefore, declared the meeting which attracted several ministries in the state, open.
