Muaythai Federation Assures Of Good Outing At Sports Festival

The Muaythai Federation of Nigeria (MFN ) has reiterated its desire to put up a good show at the National Sports Festival in Benin City, Edo State by calling on its athletes to continue with their individual training at their homes 
President, Muaythai Federation of Nigeria, Comrade Paul Egonu said the federation has at all times reminded  its sportsmen and women to continue to train and take precautions against the  COVID-19 which has halted global sports activities since March.
Egonu stressed that with the Minister’s statement on the hosting of the sports festival before the end of the year having been postponed in April due to COVID-19,  the federation is forced to remind its athletes to continue with  training 
Muaythai will be using the Edo Sports Festival to re -admit  itself into the fold of the multi sports championship as it will feature as a demonstration sports 
The Federation led by its President, Comrade Paul Egonu and eight other executives sealed the move in Benin City last year when they met with members of the main organizing committee for the festival where it was agreed that Muaythai and six other sports will feature as demonstration sports 
Meanwhile, Comrade Paul Egonu has commended the sports ministry headed by Sunday Dare for its ingenuity in containing the spread of COVID-19 with the gradual easing of the lockdown on sports with non contact events 
Egonu urged all sporting federations to continue to work with the Minister’s vision to take sports to greater heights in the country
